Nobeoka City GamesYes, it was a little expensive
at the time. But, it would have been nice living there. It's close to Jusco department store, and I could have enjoyed more
and more walks in the area. There are more choices for walking since it's located more in the center of Nobeoka City.I had
an earache once. Dr. Koike was very helpful. He allowed my ear to breathe. My ear got better in just a couple of days. Doctor
Koike also plays tennis at Royal Tennis Club in Onuki, Nobeoka. Some day, someone is going to let me know
who this is. Sorry, I don't bother with learning kanji. I think it's a statue of that famous pilot in Japan, Gokuchi or something.
Anyway, it's located overlooking the bay of Kadogawa, Miyazaki, Japan. We lived in the mountains of Kami Igata, Nobeoka for
about twelve years. My daughter grew up there. I believe that she had many special experiences while living there. I want
to someday soon, thank all of our neighbors for taking care of my special one. This is in Asahigaoka, Nobeoka. This "point"
is a fine place to enjoy the ocean and the sand in Nobeoka. There is even a certain amount wildlife living nearby.Even the
great "Sachmo" is in Nobeoka, well, in spirit, anyway. I hope more people in Nobeoka recognize his likeness. I believe this
billboard is located next to the old Best Denki on Route Ten, Nobeoka. It's across the street from the Kentucky Fried Chicken
outfit in Idekita Town, Nobeoka.Actually, I never owned a rifle. But, I did shoot a rabbit. I remember watching it die. It
changed my life. I never killed anything needlessly after that. This was taken in the San Bernardino desert, I think that's
what they call it. My uncle, Norman Tamura, used to take us there. He had a great system. He used a high powered rifle with
a serious scope to shoot ground squirrels at a distance of at least 250 yards!Hososhima Park, I believe. I took my dog for
a walk there. I couldn't read the signs at the time. So, I'll need to keep her on a leash the next time. Or, perhaps the signs
read to not brings dogs at all on the lawn, I don't know. I think I took these in Miyazaki city. There's a museum or two in
this area. My wife exhibited a few of her paintings there. She won a couple of contests. Recently, the mood of the judges
has changed, and my wife hasn't been accepted. She paints in the abstract, I believe. These guys in Kitaura have grown a little
since this picture was taken. They don't want to study English anymore. My guess is that when they reach a certain level of
English ability, they think it's enough. And, "enough is enough"."Those were the days, my friend. We'd thought they'd never
end. We'd sing and dance forever and a day...."That guy in the middle is a very good teacher.
I witnessed him teaching his friends how to play soccer-baseball. I told him so, and he said, "Jaro!?" They live in Kitaura
Cho, Miyazaki, Japan. The teacher makes the slime at Heisei Youchien in Kawaminami Cho, Miyazaki, and the kids get to mess
around in it.The gasoline stand business in Kadogawa Cho is a tough racket. This one closed shortly after this picture was
taken. On the back of the building is painted, "Keiko", which happens to be my wife's name.A Ketsubatto is used for spanking.
Or, should I say, WAS used for spanking about 40 years ago in Japan. High School children were reminded to be on time and
to pass tests no matter what.Japanese

to Education in NobeokamukabakiMimitsu, Miyazaki is quite a place.
There is a lot of history in those houses. I'm not used to very old houses. I'm from Southern California. We have some old
missions, but it's not the same.I went fishing in Mimitsu once. The people there asked me why because people from Mimitsu
go to Nobeoka to fish.Believe it or not, I actually metal detected Mimitsu Beach. I spent a couple of hours, but I didn't
find a thing. It's almost always too windy to be able to enjoy a day at the beach in Japan. I'm used to the quiet beaches of
Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, and Corona Del Mar, California.Mimitsu Beach is where the first emperor departed to Kyoto,
I believe. No one knows for sure. He is supposed to have come down from the sky and landed in Takachiho, Miyazaki. Or, maybe
that was another person. Some day I'm going to get my Japanese history straight.Bambi is the name of a sandwich bar in Nobeoka,
Japan. It's located next to the only library in Nobeoka. I wouldn't recommend it to foreigners. The people keep mainly to
themselves.I did a lot of shopping at Daiei, Nobeoka. They had some interesting, imported goods. I thought the people of Nobeoka
could relax better in that store.Bronze Snack in Nobeoka looks like it has been boarded up. Is that a security gate in front
there? I spent a lot of time on the Nishishina Tennis Courts of Nobeoka. Those days are in the past. The balls bounced differently
every time one hit the ground. I was told that they were built for "soft" tennis players. So, where are the courts for the
"hard" tennis players?Yukan Daily newspaper in Nobeoka is the only newspaper in Nobeoka. No one seems to mind. Opinions are
kept secret at any rate.Sorry, guys. The clubhouse has been burned down. They tell me that the fire department even came to
put out the fire. I guess we will have to rebuild or find another place to gather and shoot the breeze.Nobeoka StoryMy wife,
Keiko Ahner, is a painter. She has won several contests in Japan. Also, she put on an exhibition in the Artist's Village in
Santa Ana, California. You can email me at nobehage@yahoo.com or ahner1@hotmail.com. You can telephone me at 0982-34-5666.
I like to walk. I walk Nagahama beach and in the city of Nobeoka. I often take my dog, Whitey Ahner with me. If you want to
meet single people in Japan, you need to join clubs. They have athletic clubs such as tennis, soccer, badminton, rugby and
basketball. I used to be a member of a basketball club and a tennis club. I met a lot of single women and men there. The monthly
fee just pays for injury insurance and the use of a building or field. Many of us foreigners used to meet in a bar or "snack"
called Bronze. At first, I thought "buranzu" referred to blondes, but I soon found out that the master of the place, Yanagita
San, is into bronze. He makes figures using bronze wire. Anyway, it's a large bar with over 60 chairs. Sometimes the master
puts on a show with live performances and pool tournaments.Nobeoka is a castle town. Shiroyama used to tower over Nobeoka.
Now, Shiroyama Castle is in somewhat of a state of ruins. But, there is a museum called Naito Kinenkan, I believe. There you
can see many relics of Nobeoka past. The bathrooms in Nobeoka are clean. If you want a western style bathroom, you may have
to check around. Also, it pays to bring along some tissue paper, because it is sometimes hard to get. There used to be several
bath houses in Nobeoka, Poka Poka Onsen, Garappa Onsen, and more. Now, there is only Horigawa Onsen in the mountains and a
place in Kadogawa, Kadogawa Onsen. There are few fish to be caught off of the Nobeoka shores. They tell me it is because there
is a large net in place, put there by Hidaka San. It doesn't seem fair to us casual fishermen.Asahi Yukizai is also located
in Nobeoka. They make pipes, valves and the like. It's an international company. They have a branch in Ohio and Germany.Nobeoka
used to be called Atago. Many farmers used to meet in central Nobeoka to sell their wares. They created many songs and drank
a lot of sake, rice wine. Azumaya department store used to be located in Nobeoka. Also, Daiei used to operate in Nobeoka.
Kotobukiya was located in downtown Nobeoka. There used to be three or four movie theaters in Nobeoka. Now, there is only one
movie theatre. It's kind of small with poor speakers. There was also an ice rink and a skating rink in Nobeoka. There used
to be a farris wheel on top of Azumaya department store.Edward James Ahner is my brother. Ed went to La Quinta high school
l in Westminster, California. Chuck Delrio always went to La Quinta with Ed. We worked at the Garden Grove Car Wash with Norman
Tamura and Arlen Kutsunai. and Clarice Ahner Taught English at Midorigaoka Elementary in Nobeoka, Miyazaki, Japan in 3/2008.

Let's eat chicken nanban or namban. Let's eat shiitake mushrooms. Let's eat Hyuganatsu. Let's eat kasutera in Hyuga City.
Let's play tennis in Kadogawa where the best tennis courts in Japan are.Pottery is big in Nobeoka with a selective few. Keiko
took me to a place in the mountains near Mukabake Mountain. It was sort of relaxing. But, it's not my cup of tea. Although,
the master there served us a free cup of tea while we were there. We get a lot of typhoons in Nobeoka, Miyazaki Ken, Japan.
My friend and his mini-van were blown over by the strong wind of a hurricane in Japan. He wasn't injured much. You may know
him, Momotaro or Damian Freestone.Hara Odori is an inside joke between me and the Japanese. During some parties, Japanese
write certain things and images on their stomachs and dance around the room. It's a joke.Nagahama Beach in Nobeoka on March
19, 2008, a rainy day... told that the rip tides at Nagahama beach are severe. A couple of Asahi Kasei Chemical employees
drowned in them a few years back. atagoyamaI used to teach at Miruku Houikuen in Idekita, Nobeoka. The kids there were a pleasure
to be around. You can rub the tummy of an overweight statue of a man that is located in front of Miyazaki Band in Nobeoka.
They say it is good luck to do so. This man also has large earlobes, that's a sign of good fortune.Ramen used to be delivered
on 50 cc motorcycles. I used to get Katsu kare- delivered to my apartment in Midorigaoka almost every night. The manholes

beach in Nobeoka. She enjoys her runs on the sand and her chasing the birds.I sometimes whistle. But, I am aware that people
are watching me. So, I often tone it down. They say that white snakes will come toward one who whistles.Japanese children
